Do outside vendor cleaning company cleaning supplies need added to company SDS binder
We use an outside vendor to clean our offices and facility. They use all their own cleaning supplies and equipment. I noticed, however, that they leave their cleaning supplies in our storage closet rather than bringing and taking them with them each time. Do we need to take inventory and add the products to our SDS binder? They are the only ones using the products. None of our employees use them as we have our own that are in our SDS binders that we use in cases where we need clean up a mess, etc., in between scheduled cleanings.

CDC GUIDANCE
New Guidance on Influenza A.
The CDC's recently updated interim guidance identifies specific occupational groups at increased risk of exposure to novel influenza A viruses, such as H5N1 (Bird Flu), which are associated with severe illness in humans. This evolving situation has prompted the CDC to clarify previous recommendations and provide critical updates for employers in high-risk industries like poultry, livestock, and food processing.
If you're responsible for worker safety, it's essential to act now by updating health and safety plans, conducting risk assessments, and implementing protective measures like proper ventilation, protocols, and PPE.

TOOLS
New Calculator + Same Numbers = New Result
Tired of convincing your boss that health is worth the investment? Well, now there's a free tool to help you make your case—because, apparently, your word alone isn't enough. Introducing the Health Risk Calculator, developed by the Colorado School of Public Health and Pinnacol Assurance, this handy tool connects the dots between employee health and workers' comp costs.
Using data from nearly 17,000 workers, the tool uses a fancy statistical algorithm (yes, it’s legit) to estimate the likelihood of workers’ comp claims based on your company’s employee health. Want to know if those high cholesterol counts are draining your budget? Simply enter your data, and voilà, you’ll get your organization's risk and estimated costs in no time.

NATURAL DISASTERS
Safeguarding Workers from Nanomaterials: Best Practices.
Impact Plastics surrounded by mud and debris in Erwin, Tenn., on Tuesday.Brianna Paciorka / News Sentinel / USA Today Network
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is now looking into accusations against Impact Plastics, an Erwin factory where several workers tragically died, and some went missing, after being swept away by floodwaters from Hurricane Helene. Workers and their families are outraged, claiming they were forced to show up despite the storm, with some denied the chance to leave as floodwaters trapped them in a nightmarish scene.
Survivor Robert Jarvis recalls the chaos, saying, "We were told to be at work," even as floodwaters surged. “I just wish we never went to work that day. All these lives were lost for nothing. It was wrong."
Among the victims were Bertha Mendoza, who was swept from a flatbed truck, and Lidia Verdugo, who tragically fell into the floodwaters while trying to escape. Tennessee OSHA and the TBI are digging deeper into the factory’s actions, questioning whether a language barrier might have played a role in the deadly miscommunication.
As the investigation unfolds, Impact Plastics claims they’ll fully cooperate, but these allegations of negligence are leaving many demanding answers and justice.
